Day 1 of juice fast

So I prepped last night by drinking a laxative tea. This is not within the menu plan from jointhereboot website. However, from previous experiences in doing the Master Cleanse, it’s very important to make sure that as you cleanse internally, things are getting *coughs* flushed out of your body as well πŸ™‚

So I wake up and drink a glass of water with lemon juice (half a lemon). Then I spent 15 mins prepping, juicing the vegetables, fruits and cleaning the juicer.

ThisΒ morning’s juice consists of celery, carrots, cabbage, pear, apples, and lemon.

On my way to work, I started thinking about food when I drove past a restaurant. You don’t realize how much you think about food until you can’t eat it.

So I lasted on a Nalgene bottle of the juice all through the afternoon. When I got home from work, I made another batch of juice. This time it’s pear, cantaloupe, leek, spinach, cucumber and beet. It’s an utter fail. The leek literally made me gag. I added 2 apples and it still stings my eyes going down. I ended up using an entire cantaloupe and it’s still crappy. Note to self: no more leeks in my juice.

I ended up being so hungry and disgusted by the juice that I went out and got myself a roast duck rice dinner.

Conclusion: Juice fast fail. Considering that I have a fridge full of fruits and veggies, I intend to continue juicing. But I think dinner is my indulgence πŸ™‚

Also I conclude I’m addicted to coffee. Not having that cup of coffee = headache all day!

Fat, sick and nearly dead

Health is of huge interest to me especially considering my occupation. So when a friend recommended that I watch Joe Cross’s documentary ‘Fat, sick and nearly dead’, I went on Netflix and started watching. Oh boy…… I had been blending for a while now (I have both a Vitamix and Blendtec) but I have been neglecting my Breville Juicer. I promptly lugged it out and stuck it on the countertop.

I think my diet is moderately healthy but I can always do with a cleanse. So I decided to just go with a 5 day juice cleanse. I opted not to do the 5 day primer. Here a picture of my shopping cart. πŸ™‚

That is hopefully enough vegetables and fruits to last me for 5 days. In fact I’m sipping a juice concoction that is made up of apples, carrots, celery, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber. LOL I will eventually work up to radish, parsley, cilantro, leeks, and all the other yucky vegetables. The hardest part is going to giving up coffee πŸ˜€

The next 5 days will be me posting about my attempt at this juice fast so stay tuned πŸ™‚

By Terry Blush Veloute Velvet Cream Blush in #1 Apple Glow

*waves hi* It’s been a while since I posted a review πŸ™‚

Today I bring the cream blush from By Terry. As some of you may know, blushes are my weakness. I was in a splurging mood and ended with it.

Once I got this, I felt I might have something similar, I pulled out a few of my cream blushes to compare. I suspect Bobbi Brown blushed rose pot rouge might be similar but it is hiding from me. 😦

Thoughts:

This is tiny! It’s $43 for 0.1 oz/ 3g so it’s definitely on the pricer side. It glides on well and goes sheer once you blend it out.Β  It’s buildable so for the ladies who are afraid of clowny cheeks, a blush like this would work well. It’s a natural looking flush on my skin πŸ™‚

Lasting power on me is moderate.

Is it worth the money? Not to me. I personally prefer blushes that are more pigmented.

You can buy this at Barneys or at beautybar.com I personally prefer beautybar as it’s free 1-2 day shipping. πŸ™‚ Plus you can use these codes for additional % off!
